Sir Charles Carrick Allom (1865–1947) was one of Britain’s most distinguished interior decorators, architects and furniture designers of the early twentieth century. As founder of White, Allom & Company, he established an international reputation for the design and furnishing of palaces, country houses, hotels, ocean liners and private residences. His clientele included the British Royal Family, Henry Clay Frick, William Randolph Hearst and numerous leading American collectors. Knighted in 1913 following his work on Buckingham Palace, Allom played a significant role in shaping the English classical revival in Britain and the United States during the first half of the twentieth century.
